The birdman

The birdman, aka ‘Martin Allmey’ has been one of my favorite riders since i began riding.

From his part in the early Bicycle Union video ‘Nails in the coffin’ to random photos of him blasting the jumps at the urban games, to that FBM ad of him nose bonking that sign Garrett Byrnes was holding on the deck of the T1 ramp a few years back.

The dude has always been a silent shredder and well under the radar, appearing on various clicked videos over the years shredding contest courses but not actually entering the comps, has a damn good natural looking style and just seems like a genuinely sweet dude.

Martin has lived in hastings for the past few years and I wasnt entirely sure how much he was still riding, if at all.
My mind was recently put to rest however when i stumbled across these photos of Martin from the Boyley jam at the new Hastings park from the weekend just gone.

The birdman rules. A UK legend if you ask me. Much like Scott Malyon who graced our most recent cover.
